2022, Journal of HydrologyCitation Excerpt :Therefore, combining existing technological developments and shortcomings to carry out the spatial estimation of SWC with the advantages of real-time in situ monitoring timeliness and scalability of detection depth is a necessary means to meet the actual agricultural production requirements. Traditional GIS spatial interpolation algorithms, such as the inverse distance weighted (IDW) and Kriging algorithm, are the classical geostatistical methods to produce spatial estimations based on the first law of geography (Goodchild, 2009). However, spatial prediction techniques based on the first law of geography or statistical principles only consider the variability in spatial distances.
